Industrial noise isn't just a distraction - it's a hazard:

Machinery, compressors, presses, blowers generate high-decibel, reverberant sounds.

Workers may struggle to hear each other, and communication breakdown causes safety risks.

Uncontrolled noise can lead to long-term hearing damage and non-compliance with OSHA/other safety standards.

Traditional soundproofing methods may require major construction, downtime, or high cost.Your custom text goes here

Our Solution

Title

A purpose-built acoustic curtain system that can be installed faster, at lower cost, and adapted to your machine layout — providing both absorption and sound blocking to quiet your environment.

  • How it Works

  • Key Components of Our Curtain

  • Performance Specs

Every soundwave hitting a surface will be absorbed, reflected, or transmitted.

Soft absorptive layers reduce echoes and reverberation; dense barriers block transmission of sound to adjacent spaces.

Low-frequency sounds (longer wavelengths) are more difficult to absorb and require thicker / denser materials.

Understanding Sound Absorption & Blocking

Industrial noise control tackles two problems: echo inside the room and noise traveling into other areas. Our curtain systems combine materials that absorb and materials that block to solve both.

NRC — Noise Reduction Coefficient

Measures sound absorption in the same space (reduces echo & reverberation).

Scale: 0.00–1.00 → Higher = better absorption.

Example: Painted drywall ≈ NRC 0.05 (absorbs only 5%).

STC — Sound Transmission Class

Measures how well a barrier blocks sound from passing into adjacent spaces.

Higher STC = better isolation

Why Some Sounds Are Harder to Control

FrequencyBehaviorControl
Low FrequencyTravels farther, harder to absorbUse dense & thicker barriers
High FrequencyAbsorbs & dissipates fasterUse soft absorptive layers

Real-World Performance

  • Noise frequency content (low vs. high)
  • Distance & openness of space
  • Walls, floors & ceilings materials

Typical reduction: ~10–25 dB depending on setup (10 dB ≈ half as loud to the human ear).

Key Components of Our Soundproof Curtains

Each curtain is engineered using a layered construction that absorbs sound within the space and blocks sound from traveling into adjacent areas, while remaining lightweight and flexible—no rigid construction required.

Quilted Fiberglass Absorptive Layer

Reduces echo and reverberation inside the space by absorbing reflected sound energy.

  • Improves speech clarity
  • Creates a quieter, more comfortable workspace
  • Available in multiple thickness options
Controls: NRC (Absorption)
Mass Loaded Vinyl (MLV) Sound Barrier

A dense internal layer that blocks sound waves from passing through the curtain.

  • Improves isolation performance (STC)
  • Effective against machinery & compressor noise
  • Works with absorptive layer for full-spectrum control
Controls: STC (Blocking)
Reinforced Industrial Exterior

Durable and easy-to-clean surfaces designed to withstand demanding industrial environments.

  • Tear, puncture & abrasion resistant
  • Performs in dusty, oily, or vibrating conditions
  • Low maintenance, long service life
Benefit: Durability
Optional Thermal Backing

Improves temperature separation where climate control and noise control are both needed.

  • Helps maintain hot/cold zones
  • Useful in warehouses, processing lines, and docks
Benefit: Comfort & Efficiency
Modular Track & Roller System

Allows the curtain system to move, open, retract, or section off areas as needed.

  • Sliding track or accordion fold options
  • Fixed and reconfigurable layouts available
  • Compatible with doors and equipment access points
Benefit: Accessibility & Flexibility

Performance Specs

Measured sound blocking (STC) and absorption (NRC) work together to reduce overall noise levels. Actual results depend on frequency content, room geometry, and enclosure sealing.

Acoustic Performance

  • STC (Blocking): up to ~33
  • NRC (Absorption): high-quality quilted face
  • Typical Reduction: ~10–25 dB
  • Every 10 dB ≈ half as loud

Frequency Response

  • Absorbs mid & high frequency noise
  • MLV layer helps block low-frequency machinery rumble
  • Best performance with well-sealed enclosures

Construction

  • Quilted fiberglass absorptive face
  • Mass Loaded Vinyl (MLV) dense core
  • Reinforced, wipe-clean industrial exterior
  • Stitched, sealed edges & panel joiners

Panel Sizes & Thickness

  • Modular panel formats
  • Multiple thickness ratings available
  • Custom sizing for non-standard equipment or pass-throughs

Mounting & Operation

  • Track & roller sliding systems
  • Accordion-fold retraction options
  • Fixed or removable curtain assemblies

Durability & Safety

  • Tear & abrasion-resistant outer layer
  • Low-maintenance & easy to clean
  • Fire-resistant exterior materials (rating varies by spec)
Metric Meaning Typical Result

Overall Decibel Reduction Combined real-world impact ~10–25 dB (10 dB = half as loud)

Applications & Uses

Industrial Soundproof Curtains are versatile noise control solutions that can be adapted to nearly any environment where machinery or workflow creates excessive sound. From enclosing loud equipment and compressors to dividing production lines, warehouses, and work zones, these acoustic curtains provide both flexibility and high performance. They help reduce noise exposure, improve communication, and create safer, more comfortable spaces for employees — without the cost or permanence of traditional soundproof walls. Whether used as enclosures, room dividers, or temporary barriers, they deliver reliable sound control wherever you need it.

Standard & Optional Features

Kinetics KNC BQQ composite curtains offering sound blocking and absorption allow design flexibility via a curtain conveyor cover and large machine enclosure system.

Additional Industrial Acoustic Panels
& Baffles

Dual Barrier Acoustic Panels provide excellent noise control for a wide variety of commercial and industrial applications. Designed to be used as a free-hanging noise barrier/sound absorber panel, the Dual Barrier Acoustic Panels are easy to install and move.

Free-Hanging Baffles hang from the ceiling structure above the noise source to absorb the reflected sound from the ceiling.

Frequently Asked Questions

Have questions? We’re here to help

CALL US:

EMAIL:

How much noise reduction can I expect?

It depends on many factors—room size, sound frequency, surfaces, layout—so we give estimates (10–25 dB reduction).

What is the difference between STC and NRC?

  • NRC (Noise Reduction Coefficient) measures how much sound is absorbed in a space (scale 0-1).
  • STC (Sound Transmission Class) measures how much sound is blocked when moving through a barrier. Higher is better.

Are these only for indoor use?

Primarily for indoor use; some customers have used them outdoors or semi-outdoors, but warranty and performance are designed for indoor installations.

Do you install the acoustic curtains?

We don’t install directly, but we have a broad installer network and most customers (about 85%) install using our instructions.
